Pining over bar carts..

Just like every other piece I have bought for our new home.

I have searched high & low for weeks upon weeks for the right rug & then the perfect cushions let alone decorative mirrors, vases & pieces of art.

So, when I decided that I 'needed' the ever so old hollywood bar cart another official search was on.

They really do present an air of glamour.

And it seems like a perfect & stylish solution for displaying our ever growing selections of wine & spirits. As well as a wonderful way to show off some beautiful glassware we received as weddding gifts.

Here are a few gorgeous carts I have come across while searching for my own.

Just 3 days ago, I came across a simple pine 3 shelved cart that I intend to sand back, paint black & lacquer in a high gloss...

...topped with some kosta boda glasses, a bold vase & blooming flowers & I'll be creating some fabulous fruity cocktails in no time!

I have a habit of starting my morning by checking some of my favourite blogs..I think they fuel my creativity & inspire my day.

A Top Knot & A Lace Dress...

Everyday, I think about blogging & just get plain ol' busy & distracted. Over the weeks in which this occurs I often realise how many gorgeous pics I have collected with the intention to feature in this exact space. They really shouldn't be wasted now should they.

So, here are a few pretty celeb pics that made me look twice.

I just LOVEEE Fergie's look. EVERYTHING..from the knot in her hair to that gorgeous blouse ...& leather pants are always awesome in my opinion, if worn properly.

Ow to be so lucky...close friends, Moss & Testino, match made in heaven right? Kate Moss's official wedding photographs are sublime. I love the fairytale like quality they possess. And the mother daughter image is just beautiful.

Emma Stone turned up @ the Golden Globes a new blonde with a fab dress. And then I was hooked, not only is she the new funny girl on screen but she is always looking perfectly primped.

Amazing in lace.

Matchbook Magazine

There are very few magazines that encapsulate fashion, photography, lifestyle, art & culture in a way that gets me really excited.

Vogue is beautiful for lust over couture & fashion I can only dream about. The same goes for Harpers Bazaar. As much as I love the images & adverts, the items overall, for a monthly mag, only make me depressed. So many unattainable items ...I dont want to be reminded EVERY single month of what I want but cant have.

Nevertheless, MATCHBOOK MAGAZINE is a FANTASTIC online magazine that I only discovered this week. I am absolutely hooked! I have flicked through every magazine since its inception in January  of this year. I cant wait to sit with a hot cup of coffee & read a few more articles.

It's clever & visually divine. Smart articles alongside fashion finds, lifestyle buys & inspiration.

Do yourself a favour...trust me.

We have been known as Patisserie Coeur for a while now..& to be honest, have never been pleased with it. It just didn't feel like the right name for my one and only blog. So yes, I have taken the plunge & changed it.

being chic.

My intention has always been to display images I find beautiful & inspiring. Photos that have captured me in an instant, fashion that I dream about, divine lifestyle items & ideas. And like so many others, being chic is a lifelong endeavour.

So, this blog will continue just the same as it has in the past, but with a name the embodies it just ever slightly more.

Fab Finds...

I lust over items to the point of obsession...there are moments when the urge to purchase overcomes me....there are others when my partner catches me in the act...I am so naughty...he thinks spending $200 on rubber thongs is 'ridiculous'...my response...'but-- but-- they are MISSSSSOONNIII!!!!"

Nevertheless, here are my new must-have items (they are lust-have I am attempting to justify)..

If plates could be sexy...D.L & Co's Seven Deadly Sins Dessert Plates would be crowned THE sexiest plates in existence. MUST HAVE RIGHT? So chic.

Missoni's collaboration with Havaianas almost makes me giddy...rubber thongs were never a favourite (being quite a shoe snob --at least I admit it)..but now that they are covered with the multi-colour zigzag I have always been so fond of.....

Jonathan Adler's bold patterns always get me so excited! This porcelain vase no less...& wouldnt it look so fabulous with some gorgeous buds.

I can not claim this as my own find..but as a fab house warming gift...isnt this the sweetest tea strainer? Alessi goods are always a dream.

Sweet Sunday

"Breakfast is the most underrated meal of the day"...that's what my lovely husband said this morning with warm Turkish toast topped with scrambled eggs hovering near this lips. I couldn't agree with him more. With every cafe brimming with people & their children & or puppies I assume we are not the only ones...and aren't Sunday mornings the best time to sit back & have all the cooking done for you?

You would think so, but after enjoying my latte & corn fritters this morning, we sat back and watched my weeks worth of Oprah recordings, aren't the Obama's an inspiring pair?...& then felt the urge to bake- it happens regularly. Last week's Lemon Cake was divine (& just so easy) so this afternoon's choice was Flourless Chocolate Cake...still yet to be devoured.

Although what I am about to mention has been critiqued & slammed here & there I will gladly self confess my obsession with these two.

Katherine Kallinis & Sophie LaMontagne. The sugary sweet sister duo of 'DC Cupcakes'& owners of Georgetown Cupcake.

It is positively, visually tantalising. I love the gorgeous little decorated cupcakes & the candy pink cupcake boxes stacked to the ceiling. The store is to die for pretty & absolutely chic...

It all just really makes me want to grab my lolly pink cardi & a spatula!

Jo'mina

I bought a nail polish in a colour that I loved, but not really a colour I would usually opt to paint my nails in!

I have a tendancy toward darks like Chanel Rouge Noir, OPI Siberian Nights, or bright reds, the occassional nude OPI Funny Bunny is a winner...& then there is the on going saga of 'the perfect pink' but that can wait for another post...

It's about Jo'mina today. Illamasqua's lilac polish that has me confused.

The colour is magnifique, no doubt about it..but on nails? It seems to be a winner though..a few random comments from stylish girls at work....must mean something right?

I paired it with a tangerine cashmere jumper & the nail colour popped!

So maybe, afterall,  Jo'mina will help me venture out of my conservative nail colour choices...xx

B.L.I.S.S

It's been a really long time.

I REALLY HAVE missed blogging a whole heap.

But, that time REALLY has FLOWN.

Since my last post, I have gotten married, had a glorious time in
Thailand & Singapore (yes, honeymooning), moved into our little place,
unpacked a zillion items, received a few more zillion wedding gifts,
with more due to arrive, but also spent hours at work trying to catch
up on a pile of work larger than the 3 desks I already use!

So yes, life is just CRAZY. But it's absolute BLISS too!

Setting up a new home & life is fabulous! Lots of fun & a wonderful
way to express every ounce of creative juice I could possibly have.
Decorating is seriously exhilirating! Floor rugs & cushions have had
me searching in every shop & online store is existence! Slowly but
surely our home is coming together piece by piece!

And most exciting of all is that I finally found a rug that I love!

What's wrong in Oz....

There are no decent floor rugs in Australia...well, there are ..but they are sadly unattainable for numerous reasons!

I have searched high and low and am always drawn to the rugs that are around $10,000! Not exactly in a price range of a soon to be married couple.

I have fallen in love with Jonathan Adler's Moroccan tile inspired masterpieces, Anthropologie rugs that can't be delivered to Oz & a million more designer rugs! 

Here are the ones that would really MAKE my living room!

       

And finally...an actually option! Pretty pattern + a hint of colour + a perfect accompaniment beneath my coffee table!

Fashion Inspiration..

Hates being too busy to blog ....

I have been ridiculously MIA of late. I can't even rememeber the last
time I had a look at some of my favourite blogs! In between a busy job
& planning a wedding I really haven't had much time for anything else.
But I did come across some gorgeous pics! Hope you have all had a
