Love to love LOVE MAGAZINE...

A new found obsession has emerged.

Good-bye Vogue & Harper's.
(Well, not really but you understand my passion now)

The covers caught my eye- basically because there were a few to choose from
(8 to be exact)...for the same issue.

Not good for the indecisive person that I am-especially because they were all so fabulous.

Can I buy 1 of each?

How can you choose between Lauren Hutton, Barbie, Giselle B, Sienna M
& an amazing transformation of Rosie Huntington Whiteley & soo many more?

Luckily, I only had 3 to choose from. Hutton, Barbie & Sienna M.
I'm all for the classics. I chose the amazing Lauren Hutton.

Every-single-page-had-me-in-a-trance.

I've always had an obsession with the adverts in mags but these were ridiculously amazing!
Need these shoes...
& this bag...

& possibly Cindy's face?
Loving this kitchen...

& my favourite Miu Miu dress ..ever...EVER!

Must go shopping now...♥

It's E T Tuesday & cloudy...

It's pretty miserable weather for a Sydney November. Extremely overcast and a dreadfully cold day. It's perfect reading weather (not that I need a certain kind of weather to want to read). I do love winter just oh so much and am really envying the northern hemisphere right about now. The thought of cosying up in bed with a good book & a hot cup of coffee seems blissful.

Wouldn't reading on this lovely Parisian balcony with a... Café au lait, probably a cigarette (you're in France remember) & a macaron from Laduree...be perfection?

As much as I love the Eiffel, I wouldn't be reading about it.

I'd be page-turning this...

I'm not surprised Helen Simonson's Major Pettigrew's Last Stand has become a New York Times Best Seller, in the Top 5 at Angus & Robertson's Bookstore & is soon becoming a favourite of mine. It's so delightful. Here's a little synopsis:

"Honour, duty and a properly brewed cup of tea ... get ready for the Major to steal your heart in the sweet, moving and uplifting story of a highly unlikely relationship between a very proper English gentleman and a widowed Pakistani shopkeeper. Major Ernest Pettigrew (retired) leads a quiet life in the small rural English village of Edgecombe St Mary where he values the proper things that Englishmen have treasured for generations - honour, duty, decorum and a properly brewed cup of tea.

The Major takes pleasure in his well-organised and rational life until he finds that his patronising son, and the kind yet interfering ladies of the village seem to have their own, rather special plans for him. It's his brother's death, though, that sparks an unexpected friendship with Mrs Jasmina Ali, the Pakistani shopkeeper from the village. Drawn together by their shared love of literature and the loss of their respective spouses, the Major and Mrs Ali soon find their friendship blossoming into something more. But although the Major was actually born in Lahore, and Mrs Ali was born in Cambridge, village society insists on embracing him as the quintessential local and her as a permanent foreigner.

A most unlikely hero, Major Pettigrew finds himself contending with irate relatives, an outraged village and a mad old woman armed with a knitting needle before he comes to understand his own heart. Written with warmth, feeling and a delightfully dry sense of humour, this very modern love story will have you cheering wildly for the Major and Mrs Ali."

I think it may be time for some coffee (I prefer it to tea) & Major Pettigrew.

Happy Tuesday mes amis ♥

El Toro Loco Lovin'

It's been a year since my lovely fiance proposed.

So therefore, quite obviously the best gift I have ever received was my gorgeous engagement ring which he picked out himself & couldn't possibly be more sparkly cushion cut perfect.

But, the way he ridiculously spoils me, this years anniversary gift almost made me cry just the same! Especially when I unwrapped an enormous box that soon revealed itself to be filled with lots of CANON EOS goodness!

And over just a weekend the battery is already dead due to my snap-happiness!

Apart from the fabulous gift, he also took me to my favourite restaurant.

El Toro Loco.

A fabulous Spanish restaurant probably a little more famous due to it's dangerously good looking television chef Miguel Maestre of Miguel's Tropical Kitchen.

We did soon come to notice the place was full of women, women absolutely everywhere!...& probably disappointed women at that with no chef behind the open kitchen...sad women everywhere who were likely to have come for the mere Miguel factor alone.

Nevertheless, the tapas were phenomenal. Duck pate was to die for, amazing garlic prawns, fish croquettes, baby chorizo that had the most delicious hint of cinnamon-who would have thought! ...& how can a tomato salad taste so good?

And then there were the churros...sweet crunchy sugary chocolaty heaven ♥

And here's a little Miguel clip to make your mouth water...I'm talking about the food not the accent!

If you live in Sydney El Toro Loco is a must...if you don't..it's still a must!

And then there was pink?...

There is a good reason God created the colour pink...I can't say I'm too religious a person at all but somehow, somewhere, something spiritually enlightening occurs when I look at something in pink. I'm sure a majority of girls have the same experience...even with age-it just never goes away. So, I think these little photos need don't really need words, enjoy ♥.

It's Tuesday too...
Can you see the Eiffel amongst all the PINK!?!

We all scream from ice-cream...♥

It's the first really warm day in Sydney & at a nice 27 degrees it's time to think about summer BBQ's (that us Aussies are so good at) ice cold drinks & most definitely ice-cream.

So, while searching ice-cream recipes on Taste.com.au I came across one I'm sure my fiance will beg me to make.

Caramel & macadamia ice-cream ...sandwiches.

When you think ice-cream can't get any better it does...by a mere two tasty biscuits. YUM!

Caramel & macadamia ice-cream sandwiches

Ingredients (serves 12)  Method

For the love of Sonia...

I love Sonia Rykiel's whimsical yet chic sensibility.
The french-ness is palpable. Stripes(usually in the renown Rykiel multicolour), berets, knits, chic sweater dresses & cardigans. Pretty bows, studs & chunky rhinestones. A fashion oxymoron really-pretty yet somewhat edgy. Pretty black & baby pink striped sweaters with a soft black leather bag ridden with silver studs.

A family owned and run fashion house. Sonia & her daughter Nathalie are just what French fashion is all about. I love that Sonia was the first to have smiling models on her runways... just girls that look like they are having a great time.

Alongside the cheerful atmosphere the Rykiel women create for their show the collections also do the very same. They are colourful, feminine, witty & fun ♥ Its all about french frivolity. How can you not want to be a Rykiel girl?

My obsession started when I purchased the above bag maybe 3 or so years ago ...of course it was on sale...& strangely I chose it in white. I would never buy a white bag usually, but somehow it really worked. I love it still...

And just a week ago Nathalie Rykiel did it again in the SR Spring 2011 collection. I really can't get enough of waisted bows. So pretty. And this particular colour ensemble is lovely.

Who cares about horizontal stripes being unflattering Rykiel makes you forget all about your waistline when they look this good...

...I did love Carrie as much as every second girl in the world did but it wasn't the fact that she wore this on the 2nd last episode when she arrives in Paris but the pure fact that Patricia Field chose her to wear Rykiel- not Dior, Lanvin or Balmain- but Rykiel in her first Paris scene.
Now,  if Rykiel isn't the epitomy of French style I don't know what is!

Mad Hatter...

I have a new found obsession with finding the perfect Summer hat.

A panama or a trilby - either one & I would be delighted!

The only problem is, is that finding one that fits perfectly is quite a task...hats don't suit everyone...& I'm wondering whether I'm one of those people...fingers crossed I'm not.

...Because I would really love the look like the following fabulous women in their hats...(actually, I would really love to look like the following fabulous women whether they look good in their hats or not) ANYWAY....straw trilby or panama just spell S-U-M-M-E-R....Summer so close you can smell it in the air...

I Diane's the best...& look she is just SURROUNDED by hat wearers!

Bisous for Mr Copping. xx

I wanted to cry tears of pure happiness when I had a look at Peter Copping's collection for Nina Ricci.

I love the colour palate of mixed neutrals alongside gorgeous bright pinks & canary yellows. I've always been a fan of a little sheer blouse, a fluffy or structure bow, a good heavy frill or ruffle &/or lots of lacey additions - so this collection really had me from the start!
