Dessert Party..
Its a little early in the year to be thinking about a joint birthday party with my hubby as we are June & July babies, but I am just so excited to have decided to have a dessert only party.
I am a real chocoholic, and my husband is a candy feign. So really, its ridiculous that we haven't had one before.
A few years ago, on twitter, I discovered Amy Atlas, the amazing event planner that creates the most incredible dessert tables. So decorative inspiration won't be difficult..but how to chose a reasonable size menu, culling the endless list of treats I have come up with is going to be the real task!
I will be sure to keep you posted on all my sugary plans,
Vxx

BAMBOO FEVER..
Being the Gemini that I am, I have such a broad & varying sense of style. I can go from ultra girly frills and lace, to rocking biker jackets, to a wholesome Ralph Lauren shirt.
But one love that has stood the test of time has been BAMBOO.
It started with Tom Ford @ Gucci. It was all about the accessories. The amazing tied up shoes with a metallic bamboo heel that I still pine over that were paired with really rich & luxurious looking bags.

And then, the bamboo obsession morphed into the interiors…

Golden Globes 2012
It's difficult not to get a tad excited for an event that is so majorly focused on gowns and jewels. The Golden Globes 2012, have once again been thrilling for fashion lovers alike.
I found myself refreshing pages online for recently viewed celebs on the red carpet.
Once again, there were great triumphs & tragedies. But in keeping with my years positive resolutions, I have decided to show some of my favourite looks.
Amber Riley from Glee looked stunning in her strapless gown. No doubt it would be difficult amongst Hollywood's slim celebs but she is really holding her own & looks amazing.
Gorgeous in The Descendants & stunning on the red carpet. What a gorgeous young girl & a beautifully sparkling gown. Love!
Never really a Swinton fan. Androgonistic looks aren't my thing. But I love the colour on her, the jacket with the billowy skirt is a great look, not too masculine & not too girly.
Emma Stone is one of my favourites. I'm always interested to see what she is doning. And this time, she hasnt disappointed me either. I love the strong colour, the dark eyes.
Evan Rachel Wood's dress has really had some mixed reviews. I loved it. I found it so whimsical and almost reminiscent of Marion Cotillard in Gaultier, Oscars 2008.
Natalie's dress is all about the colour, which is just beautiful on her. Also very Grace Kelly, you can't go wrong with that can you?

Mila & Dior..
I love Mila Kunis. I think she is so angelically beautiful. Rosebud lips & button nose. But she appears to have a little spunk which gives her cherub like exterior a little punch. Massive girl crush I know.
I also love Dior.
You would think a Mila/Dior collaboration would be heavenly but they have been a little disappointing. The images seemed a little bland. Don't get me wrong, Mila does look beautiful. And there is a lovely, ethereal cast over the photographs but in comparison to other Dior campaigns (Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, Charlize Theron etc) I think it falls a little short.
Nevertheless, it's Dior & Mila! It could be a lot worse than that!
I think this last image is lovely, let's hope Dior decides to use it more!

New outlooks, new goals & a few thousand resolutions.
Instead of choosing one wild resolution that I never stick to, I have approached the new year with a motivation to enhance my lifestyle and more focused on small self-improvements.
Here are a few I have jotted down:
1. Eat more fresh fruit & veggies.
2. Read more inspiring books.

Christmas Sweets
Like most, I extremely silly for the festive season.
And with Christmas a short week away, I have decided to throw myself into the spirit.
With my kitchen now fully stocked, I couldn't think of anything better than spending the weekend baking and making cute sweets for Christmas.
Thanks to Cupcakes & Cashmere blog, I decided to bake some cute little snowflake gingerbread cookies. My first time piping with royal icing was a little daunting! I cant say I am completely thrilled with the end product, they could be a little neater. But, thanks so some sparkling, edible glitter they turned out looking a little pretty!
Now all that is left is packaging them in cookie jars, a little celophane and a glittering ribbon.
